Southern Counties postponed until June 2021
After careful consideration and on the ‘strong recommendation’ from the Kennel Club, the committee of Southern Counties Canine Association has reluctantly and regretfully come to the conclusion that our show scheduled for the end of May 2020 will be postponed and held on 4th, 5th and 6th of June 2021.
Professor Chris Whitty, England's Chief Medical Officer has said that he expects the UK would reach the peak of its coronavirus outbreak in about 10 to 14 weeks. That time frame would mean that the number of infections could hit the UK hardest in the May half-term holiday - coinciding with Southern Counties.
We will, as far as possible use the same judging panel in 2021 but there may be some unavoidable minor alterations of judge.
We have also taken into consideration that many judges, stewards and exhibitors are within the vulnerable group for Covid 19 while judges from overseas are likely to be faced with considerable difficulties when travelling to the UK. The committee also feel that the complications of postponing to an alternative date in 2020 would lead to immense difficulties for the many shows already scheduled.
Exhibitors who have already entered will have their entry fees, priority pass fees, caravan and EHU bookings refunded IN FULL and those trade stands that have paid their stand fee will also be refunded.
The Officers and committee of Southern Counties thank all exhibitors, stewards, judges, contractors and other helpers for their support in the past, hope that all will be safe over this difficult period and look forward to seeing everyone in 2021.
